It’s Good, Except It Sucks is a movie by movie – and television series by television series – hurtle through the Marvel Cinematic Universe, hosted by Tim Worthington with a series of superpowered guests.

Taking an offbeat look at all of the movies and television series that form part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – with some excursions into The Multiverse too – from the family-friendly web-slinging of Spider-Man: Homecoming and the laugh-a-minute space skirmishes of Guardians Of The Galaxy to the macabre visions of Helstrom and the dark heart of costumed vigilante justice in The Punisher, it’s a lightweight and fun yet critical and analytical journey through a franchise that seems to attract an undue amount of scorn despite somehow managing both to be diverse and inventive and to be all things to all viewers. Well, apart from Inhumans. We had plenty to say about that one…

Most editions of It’s Good, Except It Sucks are shorter than A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor’s Hammer, and the guests range from hardcore comic obsessives to others who aren’t even completely sure of who Spider-Man actually is, although somehow it’s doubtful that Ken Loach, Martin Scorsese or Jennifer Aniston will ever agree to appear (although I’d make them do Red Sonja if they did). You can find out how closely Captain America: The First Avenger stylistically mirrors British wartime movies, whether Avengers: Endgame is an appropriate date movie – especially if your date has no idea why a racoon has just started talking, what Jessica Jones has to tell us about toxic masculinity, why Captain Marvel is a victory for everyone bar the sort of people who should not be allowed near cinemas anyway for reasons of public order and indeed odour, what solace Ant-Man And The Wasp can bring to someone who’s just been ghosted on Bumble, and whether Iron Fist is actually any g… well, we’re still trying to figure that one out. There’s facts, jokes, opinions, celebrations, dismissals, questions, answers and – for no readily apparent reason – repeated mentions of Richard Herring. Join the small but active fanbase now!
