Entirely A Matter For You

In the latest instalment of The Zeitgeist Tapes, Steve and Emma turn their attention to A Very English Scandal, the recent BBC1 drama from Russell T. Davies about the extraordinary life and trial of Jeremy Thorpe MP. During the chat they mentioned Peter Cook’s barnstorming parody of the trial at The Secret Policeman’s Ball in 1979; curious to know more about the background to it, they asked me to write a guest post which you can find here. You may wish to read it. That is entirely a matter for you.

You can hear Emma from The Zeitgeist Tapes on Looks Unfamiliar here. If you’re interested in archive comedy, you may enjoy my book Fun At One – The Story Of Comedy At BBC Radio 1.
